The 2010 Strides for Stars - Saturday, April 24
Dec 22nd, 2009 by Michael Marker

Have you heard about STARS? STARS: Grief Support For Kids provides children in our community with grief support services, educational resources, fun and hope. No doubt, many of your employees and their families have encountered grief following the loss of a family member, friend or co-worker. When children have lost a loved one, it can be a devastating and confusing time. Suffering from grief is painful to deal with whether you are a child, adolescent or an adult. Facilitated by St. Elizabeth Healthcare Hospice, STARS helps to make the grief process a bit easier for children and their caregivers. Throughout the past 15 years, STARS has helped thousands of children learn to deal with their grief and sadness.

STARS and other bereavement services are provided free-of-charge to patients, family members and the community regardless of their affiliation with St. Elizabeth Hospice. Therefore, fundraising events are the primary source of funding which enables us to continue to provide this wide-variety of services. STARS operates with donations from corporations, schools, organizations, churches, teams and individuals. We couldn’t make this happen without your support.

We hope you will join as a sponsor or participant in our STRIDES FOR STARS 5K WALK/RUN to be held Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 9 a.m. – noon in Edgewood/Crestview Hills. The event will begin and end at Dixie Heights High School. The race is a fun way for businesses and their employees to assist hundreds of children who are grieving and promote your business as a caring, community partner.
